We need to catch up on what happened at the last meeting of the Willits city council:

In a gesture of detente, council members approved a letter explaining the city’s position after Caltrans scrapped plans to remake the southern half of Willits with a road diet. 

CITY OF WILLITS: We value the effort undertaken by Caltrans, and the intention to enhance safety along the Hwy 20 Corridor. However, it has become evident that the proposed timeline for soliciting comments and public input regarding the project was insufficient to foster comprehensive community engagement. The enthusiasm exhibited by our community underscores the significance of such projects, and we firmly believe that more time is needed to ensure a holistic and thoughtful approach to address public concerns. Further, we feel that that there might be limitations in the data and modeling utilized, and further study is warranted to understand the anticipated traffic related impacts that would result from the project.
