City gov’t

Pre-meeting coverage

WHAT: City council meeting

WHEN: Wednesday at 6:30 PM

WHERE: 111 East Commercial Street

AGENDA

WATER+SEWER RATES

Willits City Council meets Wednesday. The meeting includes a public hearing on increasing the city’s water and sewer rates.

Council members made a decision in June to include a solar project at the sewer plant, an estimated at $2.8 million project, according to the rate study.

So in advance of Wednesday’s hearing there is a process and deadlines to follow if you are a parcel owner and want to protest rate increases

FRONTIER DAYS

Mayor Greta Kanne is expected to appoint a council member or two who will serve on a new advisory committee for Willits Frontier Days.

The city’s information stated that the committee would serve as a way for Frontier Days board members to communicate their concerns to the city.

GROWTH

For all the talk about building more housing and the city’s effort to update the land use portion of its general plan document, state permits presently allow the city 400 new water hookups.
